3rd Annual Shifting the Autism Narrative: The Impact of Stigma on Health

All Brains Belong VT invites anyone who cares about Autistic people to attend our 3rd Annual presentation of

“Shifting the Autism Narrative: The Impact of Stigma on Health”

This webinar was presented 4/16/24 by Autistic physician, Mel Houser, M.D.,  Founder and Executive Director of All Brains Belong VT. Dr. Houser provides medical care to Autistic people through the lifespan.

Autistic people have a life expectancy of age 36-54 years, with leading causes of death being premature cardiovascular disease and suicide. Extensive research shows that Autistic people are dissatisfied with their healthcare and experience significant barriers in accessing care. Many Autistic people feel marginalized and stigmatized by the healthcare system.

During this webinar, we’ll take a closer look at barriers to healthcare access, hidden contributors to stigma, and very simple things that healthcare providers and community allies can do to improve the health of Autistic patients.

You can still access the recording, offered by donation. 100% of donations support All Brains Belong’s free community programs for kids and adults.
